Bill Dorning started Dorning Supply Co. in May 1977 out of his garage in Edgewood, KY.
Bill began as a tool and die maker at GE Aerospace in Evendale, OH. After earning his Engineering degree
from UC, he became a programmer at GE. He soon realized sales was his calling and left to work with
Kennametal.
Several years later he started Dorning Supply Co. After starting the company in his home, he quickly
outgrew it, building in the Northern Kentucky Industrial Park in Florence, KY, where they still are today.
The business has grown over the years and in 2005 he appointed his son John President. Bill retired in
2007, and that year John Dorning, Valarie Dorning Brandenburg and Emily Dorning Henry completed
their purchase of the family business, now officially in its 2nd generation!
